Promoting Energy Efficient Building Practices

West Africa

The project aims to mainstream energy efficiency measures into housing policies, building codes, and building practices in West Africa and to achieve considerable avoidance of greenhouse gas emissions as a result of improved building practices.

The project promotes the rational use of sustainable energy in cities. It reduces energy wastage in buildings and contributes to mitigating climate change.

The project promotes the review of building code to integrate energy and resource efficiency measures and advocates for the development of by-laws at the municipal level on the use of sustainable energy.
